Dr. Joshua Charlat and his team are pleased to be able to offer beautiful smiles to their neighbours in Toronto and the surrounding suburbs.
Dr. Charlat attended the University of Winnipeg Collegiate and Faculty of Science and the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry. Throughout the course of his career, he has engaged in extensive postgraduate education with an emphasis on preventive and restorative care, such as one-visit CEREC™ crowns using CAD/CAM dentistry. His most recent training in conscious sedation allows him to provide his patients with more comfortable appointments, and his commitment to lifelong education ensures the highest level of care, both today and tomorrow.
A former clinical instructor at the Esthetic Dentistry Program at the State University of New York in Buffalo, Dr. Charlat also taught in the undergraduate prosthodontic program at the University of Toronto and is an alumnus of the Dawson Master's Program at the L.D. Pankey Institute. He has achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Ontario Dental Association, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Composium Dental Centre and Dr. Charlat have been featured in over a dozen publications in the last several years, such as "A Reason to Smile," a case study of dental makeovers featured in the March/April 2012 issue of Elevate Magazine. You might have seen his guest appearance on the RogersTV show "Finding Your Bliss" hosted by Judy Librach, discussing advances in dentistry such as CEREC restorations.
Dr. Charlat is an active participant in the community, serving as co-chair for the UJA 2015 Campaign Launch featuring Jay Leno. He also serves on the board of directors for Camp Ramah in Canada, as Chair of the Wellness Committee, and has donated dental supplies and services to various underprivileged programs in Havana, Cuba, and Ve'ahavta Canada. He and his wife Rhonda have four fantastic children. In his spare time, Dr. Charlat enjoys performing with family in community theatre musicals and making music with friends (if you call drumming music?). He volunteers as a hockey trainer for the North York Hockey League's Avenue Road Ducks, loves taking family road trips, and keeps fit taking commando krav maga classes with his kids.
